Join us on 30 July 2026 for the Merchant Square Dragon Boat Race! A fun, high-energy day on the water with teams paddling, cheering, and competing for the trophy. No experience needed, just enthusiasm. Spaces fill fast, so register your team now and be part of the excitement!
With only 22 coveted spots available, don’t miss your chance to be part of this adrenaline-fueled competition! Due to high demand, we will be reviewing all applications closely. This 2000-year-old tradition sees teams of 16 rowers and one drummer race down the length of Merchant Square canal, in a bid to reach the finish line and take home the trophy. Fancy dress is encouraged, with previous teams dressed as Minions, Drag Queens and Pirates. Crews are made up of people from the local area – work colleagues – families and friends all coming together to raise money for COSMIC Charity, an incredible organisation that supports children’s and neonatal intensive care units at St Mary’s and Queen Charlotte’s hospital.
The event promises a full day of fun and excitement, with food and drink vendors, live music and entertainment much more!
