Get pickled with your partner this Valentine’s Day at KuPP

Explore something different this Valentine’s Day. Eschew the dated and somewhat clichéd restaurant offerings and get pickled with your partner at KuPP on the canal at Merchant Square, Paddington.

Pickling and preserving is set to be one of 2020’s biggest foodie trends but the Scandinavians have been doing it for hundreds of years. It’s something savoured between lovers, family and friends and now KuPP is inviting loved-up guests – kupples if you will – to share their sentiments in Scandi style, with an exclusive ‘pickling in pairs’ masterclass.

They say couples who cook together, stay together, so test your compatibly with some pickling foreplay. Gaze into each other’s eyes over glasses of pickling vinegar, get pulses racing as you chop your chosen veggies and set off into the sunset with your very own pickles in hand.

For just £25, each couple will enjoy a glass of bubbly on arrival. Then a 20-minute masterclass with a chef-led demonstration and all the vegetables, herbs and spices they’ll need to whip up their own creations, plus a recipe card to fill in – preserve your love this Valentine’s.

Following the pickling action, sit down with your partner to enjoy a sharing smörgåsbord feast. Choose from The Fiske Bord (beetroot and dill cured Norwegian gravadlax, smoked mackerel croquettes & horseradish mayo, smoked haddock Fiske balls, Nordic Skagen prawns); the KuPP Bord (signature house smoked pork meatballs, sour hot mustard gravy, potted rabbit  and pulled pork, smoked Scottish salmon); or the Veggie Bord (wild mushroom and tarragon tart, oven baked quinoa, kale and butternut bites, smashed avocado, dill beetroot and balsamic pickled eggs). Not forgetting a choice of one of our indulgent desserts to jointly sink your spoons into, choose from our White Chocolate and Pepparkakor (Gingersnap Biscuit) Cheesecake served with fresh raspberries and mint or our Lingonberry Mess (Scandi berries, meringue and cream).
