Let the Carving Contest Begin!

Greetings, Halloween enthusiasts! We are calling upon all talented pumpkin carvers to craft your most spellbinding creations for our public pumpkin display! We have partnered with our neighbours at Lockhouse to provide a five day pumpkin carving extravaganza with some incredible prizes available for the most creative pumpkins.

Dates

Thursday 26th October – Tuesday 31st October. Please note, Lockhouse is closed on Sunday 29th October, so no bookings will be available.

Children’s Carving: 12pm – 4pm

Carving for Adults: 5pm – 8pm (last bookings begin at 8pm)

Children and families are invited to revel in an afternoon of carving from 12pm – 4pm, with free sweets to sweeten the experience! For the adults, the carving fun begins at 5pm, allowing for the perfect after-work Halloween escapade. Carving a masterpiece is even more enjoyable with a tipple alongside in our opinion. Once your pumpkins are skilfully crafted, they’ll be proudly displayed at the Merchant Square Halloween display for the entire community to admire. This event is free to attend, however a £5 deposit is required to secure your booking.

How to Enter

1. Carve your pumpkin masterpiece, giving us your most creative and imaginative work. Whether you’re going for the Mindflayer from Stranger Things, or a traditional jagged tooth Jack-o- lantern, all shapes and sizes are welcome!
2. Take a photo of your creation, framing it however you’d like. Position the carved vegetable in the candlelight or pose with your pumpkin in your favourite Halloween costume.
3. Share the image on your instagram story or grid tagging both @Merchantsquareldn & @Lockhouselondon. Please note, if your instagram is private we will not be able to access your image. In this instance, please send the image via DM to @merchantsquareldn.
4. You may enter as many times as you want, between Thursday 26th October – Tuesday 31st October.
5. We will collect all submissions and re-share on the Merchant Square instagram. Our community will then vote for their favourite entries!
6. The winners will be announced on Friday 3rd November.

There are five incredible prizes generously donated by our local partners in Paddington.

• An excursion to the London Zoo for a family of 4 (courtesy of the Heathrow Express)*
• A three course dinner and a bottle of wine for 2 people at The Hilton Metropole, Tyburn Kitchen
• A pair of Business First Tickets on the Heathrow Express
• £100 Voucher to Lockhouse
• Two Pizzas and Two beers or a bottle of wine at Pizza Express Paddington

*This prize has been amended to the London Zoo due to unforeseen circumstances

Book you space by going to the Lockhouse website, click ‘Book Now’ in the top right corner, and then scroll down to ‘Pumpkin Carving’.You can also book by calling Lockhouse directly. Spaces are limited so be sure to book your space early!

Terms and Conditions 

• Pumpkin carving is open to all individuals, but participants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a guardian.
• Please exercise caution when using carving tools to prevent injury. Parents with young children responsible for their safety during the competition
• Only the carving tools provided are are allowed for use during the competition
• Pumpkin Carving is free to attend, however a £5 deposit is required to secure your booking. 
• Entry submissions must be received between 26th -31st October
• Winners will be determined by the Merchant Square community on Instagram
• Participants have agreed to have their carved pumpkin displayed at the Merchant Square Halloween display for the community to view
• Participants grant Merchant Square and Lockhouse permission to use their submitted photo’s for promotional purposes
• Merchant Square and Lockhouse will not be liable for any injuries incurred by participants during the competition 
• Participation in the Pumpkin Carving Competition constitutes acceptance of these terms and conditions
